Envy, Panthers, Malady, Haram (@ the Knitting Factory, Saturday January 15th):

after weeks of anticipation for this show it was good to find out that it was really worth the wait. Haram ( ex-majority rule) played first. It was only their second show and for that they did a pretty decent job. At first the vocals were a bit off but that was fixed and I enjoyed their set. They played only about 5 songs but none the less were good.
Next up was Malady (ex- pg 99, City of caterpillar) This band I was most excited for besides envy. I had heard some tracks that I had really enjoyed and was looking foward to hearing them live. The live preformance of this band was decent at first the vocals were also off but that shaped up and by the middle of their set they were pretty entertaining to watch.
Then Panthers who out of all of the bands I could have done without. I almost dosed off during their set, they weren't really anything special and bored me quite a bit. There was really something missing to their songs they just went on forever there wasn't really a climax.
Then after waiting all night to see them, envy came on. This band is simply incredible. It was their first time touring the US and they did on hell of a job. By the time they came on the place was packed and everyone was so excited to hear them play. Their songs are just so layered its unbelievable it was just so much detail put in to each song. Sometimes The instrumental parts of the song went on for longer then the vocals but it was just as enjoyable. They were also great to watch just so much energy put into each song you really got lost in their set.

Overall the show was great and worth the money to see all these great bands.
